ABOUT THE AUDITION:

Auditions will be held in 5 minute time slots:

  • Saturday, June 15 from 11AM-3PM

  • Monday, June 17 from 3:30AM-7:30PM

AEA contracts are available. Equity members please be prepared to show your card at check-in.

Actors of all genders, ethnicities and abilities are encouraged to audition. All actors may be considered for any role in either show.

PREPARATION:

Please prepare:

  • 1 one-minute comedic contemporary monologue, AND

  • 1 one minute story about your quirkiest holiday experience or a patter monologue.

  • Please show some physicality in your audition- you don’t need to dance, but we would like to see how you move.

CASTING PRACTICES:

We are actively seeking actors of all ethnicities, identities and ablenesses- ages 16-70+ for the remaining shows in Season 39! The Aurora Fox is committed to casting choices that represent and celebrate all of our incredibly talented and diverse communities. Unless otherwise required by the script, and therefore reflected in the casting notice, individuals of any and all ages, ethnic identities, gender identities or expressions, sizes, spiritual identities, disability statuses, and sexual orientations are strongly encouraged to audition.

Five nimble actors play dozens of roles in this hilariously fast-paced and highly imaginative staging of the world’s most famous holiday tale! No, not the one with the kid and the BB gun... the other one... that's not the green fuzzy guy... or the one with Will Ferrell. We're talking about the one with the three ghosts and the dead guy wearing chains. Ebenezer Scrooge and friends terrorize the good citizens of the Aurora Fox in search of redemption and the true spirit of the holiday season. This riotous Dickens mashup is wacky fun for the entire family!

The Aurora Fox will hold a general call for all roles in Around the World in 80 Days and Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Aurora Fox Christmas Show on June 15th and 17th on the Aurora Fox Mainstage. Please read below for more information and to sign up! We are actively seeking actors of all genders, ethnicities, and ablenesses ages 16+.

ABOUT THE SHOWS:

Embark on a fast-paced journey with wealthy Englishman Phileas Fogg and his loyal French valet, Passepartout, who have wagered they can circumnavigate the globe in just 80 days! Doggedly pursued by Detective Fix, they set the timer on a riotous and suspenseful race-against-the-clock romp. Traveling by boat and train, they visit exotic locales and meet a wide array of quirky characters…and an elephant!

CASTING INFORMATION:

Both shows feature ensemble casts where most actors play multiple characters. Ability to quickly shift and to create easily differentiated characters is crucial.

The Aurora Fox operates under an SPT agreement with Actors Equity Association. Equity members are encouraged to audition and will be considered for any role. SPT rates under our current contract are $375/week plus health and pension. Non-equity rates are $375/week.

We are currently only able to cast actors with their own local housing.
