Citizen Kane Thursday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. Admission: $5
The classic 1941 film "Citizen Kane" begins with the death of media tycoon Charles Foster Kane, whose final word, "Rosebud," prompts a reporter to investigate the life of the powerful, yet isolated, man. Through multiple conflicting accounts, the film traces Kane's rise from poverty to building a massive newspaper empire, his ambition for the U.S. Presidency, and his eventual fall after an affair. Widely considered the best American film ever made and an Academy Award winner, the movie is a thinly veiled, controversial portrait of publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst.
